You may be reading this because you are a currently in a domestic violence relationship, your a survivor of a DV relationship or you simply just want to know what we are about. It is my greatest pleasure to be writing this in honor of all of you. You are the reason we get up in the morning, head to the office and fight for justice to be seen that is being done to our victims. We the staff of Homesafe are survivors, and all of us have experienced multiple types of abuse. The advocacy that is done for community is not done in vain and your the purpose of our existence. It was said that "Ohio suffered 131 domestic violence fatalities in the year ending June 30, 2021, a 20% increase in fatalities over the same time period last year, and a 62% increase from two years ago (ODVN,2021)." Domestic Violence is a international public health crisis that affects millions every year. Domestic Violence among males is most commonly underreported incident because of their fear of not being trusted or believed when a crisis occurs. As a community it is our job to help those who ask for it and guide those who don't know how to.
